Skill Development Training for Waste Water Treatment Plant (ETP) Operators/Technicians

25-26 August 2017, Haridwar

Under the GIZ Sustainable and Environment-friendly Industrial Production (SEIP) project, a 2 days training program for waste water treatment plant (ETP) operators/technicians was organised by Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to deliver skill development training.

This training programme conducted by technical experts from GIZ and Gopa Infra aims to help industries in effective treatment of their wastewater. About 44 participants from 24 companies participated in the training programme.

The training programme was inaugurated by Mr. P K Joshi, Regional Officer, UEPPCB, Mr. Harindra Garg, Chairperson, SMAU, Mr. Velu, Plant Head, Hindustan Unilever Limited  and Mr. L K Mishra, AM(IT), SIIDCUL Haridwar. They have requested GIZ to organise skill development training related to wastewater treatment after every three months to skill the operators and technicians of ETPs/CETP at Haridwar.

On day 1 of training at HUL, 25th August 2017, experts covered the following topics followed by ETP visit at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) plant:

  • Operate the Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Monitor and Maintain Wastewater Treatment Plant

On 26th August 2017, day two of training at Pure and Cure Healthcare Products Pvt Ltd (Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals), experts covered the topic on work safety at wastewater treatment plant followed by visit to CETP facility at SIIDCUL Haridwar. Certificate of participation was given to participants for attending 2 day training programme by Mr. Anil Sharma, President, Association of Pharma Manufacturers (APM). Participants appreciated the efforts of GIZ and SCGJ in conducting this training and requested to conduct the same training every year on quarterly basis.
