Visit of German Ambassador to SIIDCUL Haridwar

His Excellency Dr. Martin Ney, German Ambassador to India visited Integrated Industrial Estate (IIE), SIIDCUL Haridwar on Wednesday, 30th August 2017. This was a part of a 4-day visit to the state of Uttarakhand, in which he was accompanied by his wife, key officials from German Embassy and other representatives.

During his visit, a ‘Coffee meeting: Interaction with Industry’ was organised by SIIDCUL Manufacturers Association of Uttarakhand (SMAU) at Hotel Radisson Blu, Haridwar to update the Ambassador on the status of activities ongoing in the Integrated Industrial Estate contributing to Ganga Rejuvenation. About 50 participants from industries at SIIDCUL participated and shared their views about SEIP project activities in SIIDCUL Haridwar. His Excellency Dr. Martin Ney highly appreciated the efforts of SEIP project & industrial associations and industries in working towards Ganga Rejuvenation & planning and developing industrial infrastructure in Uttarakhand.

The Ambassador also visited Kwality Poly threads (KTL) in SIIDCUL Haridwar to understand the measures being planned and implemented for resource efficiency and improvement of wastewater treatment to reduce pollution. Ambassador congratulated KTL for reusing the wastewater.

Later Dr. Martin Ney and his wife Dr. Gabriele Ney planted trees at the newly developed SEWA Park in SIIDCUL Haridwar as a token of encouragement for taking up more such greening in the industrial estate. The German Ambassador and other key officials also visited the CETP facility at SIIDCUL Haridwar to see the current treatment system and disposal of waste and treated wastewater and other improvements being taken up.
