MoEFCC & GIZ sign the Supplementary Implementation Agreement for SEIP

27 November 2017, New Delhi

GIZ and MoEFCC signed the Supplementary Agreement to the existing Implementation Agreement for additional funds of EUR 1,500,000 (in words Euro One million and five hundred thousand) for the SEIP Project. Both sides agree to expand the scope of the SEIP project to cover the state of Uttarakhand in the upper Ganga river basin in line with the SEIP objectives. The expanded scope in specific includes one additional industrial site, in addition to 2 sites as per the original Implementation Agreement.

The SEIP project, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, aims to offer exemplary support to private and public stakeholders to jointly implement strategies for efficient, environment-friendly, and climate-friendly industrial infrastructure development. The SEIP project is expected to demonstrate solutions resulting in positive impacts and improved environmental conditions at the selected sites. The successful cases will serve as models that can subsequently be taken up on much larger scales.
