Production Process Improvement – Meeting of the facilitation team

The facilitation team constituted to promote the ‘Production Process Improvement’ met on 12th October 2017 with an objective to lead the promotion and implementation of improvement activities relating Resource Efficient Cleaner Production [RECP].

Mr. Hemant Verma, Technical Advisor, welcomed all the participants and shared the progress on Environment Improvement in Industries initiative untaken as a part of GIZ SEIP Project. The broad RECP improvement areas as identified during the Rapid Assessment exercise with 50 companies in IIE SIIDCUL Haridwar was broadly discussed. On behalf of Stenum Asia, Mr. Sohail Pathan presented the graphical representation of the macro findings based on Rapid Assessment exercise with 50 companies. Mr. Mukul Chandra, Plant Head, Vansal Narayan Engineering shared his experiences with all participants on the initial RECP measures taken up at his company. He informed that with simple RECP measures he could optimise water and electricity usage resulting in significant savings for his company.  Representatives from ALF Engineering & Kwality Polythreads Ltd also shared their successes by implementing RECP recommendations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants the consensus to focus on one key area to implement a specific RECP measure as per their respective RA report and save on resource consumption and share their experiences in these areas in the next meeting of the Facilitation team meeting.
