Replication Workshop with stakeholders & Adelphi on RECP at Wazirpur

Workshop on RECP Replication by Adelphi at Badli Industrial Area

A second half-day workshop on Environment Improvement in Industries (EII) through Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP), was conducted by GIZ as a part of SEIP project on 29th June 2018. The workshop was organised at Badli industrial area CETP Society. Nearly forty people including representatives from Badli industrial area CETP Society, industries, DSIIDC, Adelphi (represented by TERI and Stenum Asia) along with GIZ participated in the workshop.

The workshop commenced with opening remarks from GIZ on the introduction of SEIP project and the successes achieved during past two years. Sessions on energy saving strategies and utility tools to practically assess potential energy & water savings was shared by Adelphi consortium. After the exercise Adelphi team shared their success stories from the detail assessments done in the three SEIP project sites in Delhi (i.e. Patparganj Industrial Estate, Mayapuri Industrial Area, Lawrence Road Industrial Area) with low or no cost involved. Adelphi also introduced 'eco-mapping tool' for self-assessment and financing options to familiarise with options for funding RECP measures, these schemes help SME managers and employees to get funding from different sources for RECP measures replication.

Q&A round followed the earlier sessions, where Adelphi tried to resolve all queries from industries regarding resource efficiency. Adelphi asked industries to voluntarily join the initiative and provide their inputs where they want to implement these measures. Adelphi provided all present with 11 energy efficient measures options with low cost or no cost which were tried and tested under SEIP project to implement in their respective industries. It was also informed that free consultation will be provided to the volunteer industries under SEIP project.

Badli Industrial Area CETP Society appreciated the initiatives taken up by Adelphi and they also encouraged industries to implement the measures suggested under RECP as a part of SEIP project. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks from GIZ and Adelphi.
