Brainstorming Workshop on SEIP Phase II: Appraisal of Requirements

Brainstorming workshop on ‘Appraisal of Requirements’ for SEIP Phase II was conducted by GIZ together with partner organisations was conducted on 25th July 2018 at the Cypress Hall, India Habitat Centre. Active participation from DSIIDC, DIPP and DPCC were witnessed.

The workshop commenced with opening remarks from GIZ on the introduction of SEIP project and the successes achieved during past years and then followed by discussions on lessons learnt from SEIP Phase I project. Mr. Ashish Kumar, Technical Advisor, GIZ made presentations on: Enabling framework at national and state level (Gujarat) for industrial wastewater related to CETPs, ETPs, Production Processes of Industries, ZLD, Pollution Monitoring, Skills of Personnel and Industrial Infrastructure. He gave the overview of the existing policies and instruments and highlighted gaps in the national and state policies/instruments. He also recommended the potential areas that can be taken up for the next phase of the SEIP based on the information presented before the government, private and development sector stakeholders.

A Q&A round followed wherein the participants shared their feedback and pledged support for the next phase of the project and volunteered to join the initiative and provide their inputs where they want to implement these measures.
