One-Day Training to CPCB Officials on the New Platform – National Environmental Law Portal

31st March 2021, MS Team Meeting

Under the Indo-German Bilateral Cooperation, the portal was developed during 2019-2020 after reviewing the international similar examples and collecting the views of the key stakeholders. Several consultation workshops were conducted to discuss its features and specific requirements of Indian stakeholders. The portal was designed and developed, thereafter, confirming to the Government of India IT rules and guidelines. It has been agreed that CPCB adopt the portal for public benefits and raising awareness on the environmental laws, rules, notifications, orders, court cases etc.

A one-day training was organised by GIZ to train the official sof CPCB on the newly developed National Environmental Law Portal. In the training, GIZ gave an overview of the tool and explained how it was developed during the different stages. Following this, an orientation and training on the different features and functions included in the portal for the regulators and public benefits was carried out.

In the end, it was decided that CPCB will discuss with the management and put up a proposal for taking over the tool and getting it operational at the CPCB server. Before that, CPCB would arrange and conduct all the necessary and required certifications – security, complying with government guidelines.
