Private and public sector actors jointly implement strategies to achieve an efficient, environment- and climate-friendly industrial development.


  • The pollution in the surroundings of two (2) industrial sites - based on five (5) location specific parameters - has decreased by an average of 20%.[Base value: Five (5) location-specific pollution parameters each, to be defined and measured for three (3) industrial zones at the beginning of the project. Target value: reduction of on average 20 to 30 % in three (3) industrial zones.]
  • Two (2) industrial development programmes and/ or promotional guidelines, which aim at increasing resource efficiency and preventing/ reducing pollution in industrial zones, have been approved in selected states.[Base value: 0; Target value: two (2) industrial development programmes and/ or promotional guidelines]
  • In two (2) additional central government policies, plans and/or programmes, measures have been made compulsory to prevent and reduce pollution and to improve resource efficiency in industrial zones.[Base value: two (2) national policies, plans and/ or programmes; Target value: two (2) additional national policies, plans and/or programmes.]
  • Ten (10) industrial zones have started a broad application of best-practice technologies and management methods for an efficient, environment- and climate-friendly industrial development.[Base value: 0; Target value: 10]
  • Two (2) additional practical examples regarding management and planning methods of sustainable industrial zones supporting women are made available for the private and state actors involved.[Base value: only one (1) example known so far (“green” women’s industrial park in Andhra Pradesh); Target value: two (2) more practical examples.]
