India currently experiences the worst water crisis in its history. And the demand for vital resources will continue to rise. The industrial sector is accounted for five percent of the total consumption of 634 billion cubic meters of water in the country, the demand will quadruple by 2030. It is therefore important to understand and continuously strengthen the framework of Industrial Wastewater in India. the main focus area of this webinar is to cover the framework including the national environmental policy, the environment protection act, the water act, the actors (public and private), important networks and environmental protection structures (strategic and operational) and practices at the central and state level in India.

Dr. G V Subrahmanyam, GIZ Consultant and ex-MoEFCC official elaborated upon the current scenario as well as the futre needs and requirements.
